SO excited to announce that we will be running photo sessions at this year's Nexus Con in Coffs Harbour, Saturday 29th July.
Nexus Con is a pop culture convention held in Coffs Harbour on the NSW Mid North Coast. The city is a popular tourist destination, attracting millions of visitors every year due to its beautiful scenery, great beaches and laid back atmosphere.
The convention is a project of Nexus HQ, a community organisation that aims to ‘discover, unite, support and provide’ for all lovers of pop culture and its associated hobbies. We are aided by Groundworks Youth Centre and Mid Coast Communities – two fantastic community organisations dedicated to bringing people together. The convention itself is also supported by other, wonderful groups such as Headspace and Coffs Coast Autism.
Formerly known as ‘Level UP!’, Nexus Con was originally conceived as a small event designed to bring the youth of Coffs Harbour together. However, the idea soon grew and eventually a full day event was created. The response from the community was overwhelming (we expected 400 attendees and instead got 700).
Now in its third year, we have rebranded as Nexus Con and relocated to the Coffs Harbour Showgrounds so we can become even bigger and better.
Despite our growth, we wish to capture the friendly, enthusiastic atmosphere associated with anime and comic conventions back in the early 2000s and ensure a fun, affordable and inclusive day for all.
Both indoor and outdoor activities will be on offer, as well as the return of many of our previous, exciting activities such as the Zombie Extraction Room. Cosplay, TCG, and video game competitions will also be back, as well as more vendors, more LARPing, more panels, more special guests, and more fun than ever before!
